In this lesson we talked about BOOK ART and looked at some examples by artist RYAN COLEMAN. We used cotton balls instead of paint brushes for our background. We used an old book found at the Thrift store. We focused on Line and Space.

A Collaboration by B4
– working together to achieve a goal, or in this case, a work of art.

In this lesson, we used a needle and thread (sewing) as our main tool. Kids sewed parts of their GUTS then stuffed them with poly fiber and felt pieces of food.

Van Gogh and Lines

15 Sep

Bungalow 4

Objectives:

1.  Read about the different types of lines.

2.  Practice using our “art eyes” to see shapes by completing a worksheet.

3.  Copy the picture of Vincent Van Gogh’s “sunflowers” using our art eyes to see which way the lines go.

Project:

1.  Use one piece of pastel and draw the sunflower.

2.  Draw the same picture over the first one,  “looking” again.

We spent time talking about different styles of drawing; contour, gesture, etc.  and lines.  This project was not product based, but the end result ended up quite beautiful!
